Hush.
Listening. It’s a lost art.
Sure, we may be listening with our ears and sometimes maybe even with our eyes. But are we with listening with our hearts? Or with our whole bodies?
Let me ask you this:
Are you tired?
Are you overwhelmed?
Are you feeling restless?
Then I can tell you this:
You have stopped listening to your own body. How can we expect to hear anyone else when we aren’t listening to ourselves?
Being tired doesn’t mean you are lazy. It means you need to rest.
Being overwhelmed doesn’t mean you are defeated. It means you need to take something off your list or ask for help.
Being restless doesn’t mean you can’t relax. It means you haven’t allowed yourself the space to do nothing and unwind slowly. We have forgotten that our pace is much closer to the pace of the trees, and not our mobile phones.
Listening is a practice. It’s a practice that has to begin with you. And you are going to have to start somewhere so it might as well be today.
I love you.
