Opposite.
When we are cold, we want to curl up.
When, in fact, the thing that will warm us up is movement.
When we are overwhelmed, we shut down and close ourselves off.
When actually, this is the time we need to connect with others the most.
Sometimes the answer is to stop searching for the answer. Sometimes the answer is to do nothing. And sometimes the answer is to do the opposite.
How do we know when doing the opposite is the better choice?
We don’t. But what if we gave it a whirl?
What if the next time you were rushing, you decided to slow down?
What if the next time you felt alone, you reached out to a trusted friend?
What if the next time you wanted more, you decided to do less?
What if we used self-compassion to heal the world?
What if we used rest to be more productive?
What if.
I love you.
