To do lists, I’ve got plenty.
I mostly make lists of things I need to get done. But I also make lists of fun things I’d like to do, places I want to visit, books I want to read, art supplies I’d love to test out, and talks I want to have with my daughter. At any one time, I’ve got 15-25 lists going…(yikes!)… even though most of them aren’t urgent nor need to get done in a particular time frame.
However, I have to say that knowing they exist can pile on in the same way as if they were urgent. And I’ve found it can create a state of mental disarray.
Yesterday I tried out something different. I couldn’t figure out where to start, what to do, or what tasks to take on — fun or otherwise. So I decided to *first* do one thing for myself. And you know what? It really made all the difference in the rest of my day.
I highly recommend.
I hereby give you permission to take 10 or 20 minutes today for you.
Honoring yourself is magic.
I love you.
