If I asked you to close your eyes and picture a tree, what would you see? What image would that big beautiful brain of yours conjure up? How tall would that tree be? What time of year is it? Are there leaves, blooms or bare branches?
Your thoughts are made up of a storage of experiences you have lived through and narratives you have told yourself. That tree image I just asked you conjure up? You really didn’t have much of choice of what happened to pop up.
The same goes for other immediate thoughts in your head.
”I’m too old.”
”I’m too young.”
”I’m not good enough.”
”I’m not ready yet.”
”What would the neighbors think?”
These are just thoughts. And thoughts can be changed. These thoughts are limiting beliefs. And you have a choice of whether or not to believe them.
Your first thought might be negative, but you can practice looking for a second thought of something lighter, something more loving.
You could picture a tree like the one outside your window. And then, you could picture a cow doing yoga, standing in “tree” pose. Really, the choices are endless. Have fun with it.
Hey, you’ve got this.
And I love you.

Love you!!!!
